SUMMARY:NW Group visit to Royal Welsh Fusiliers Museum\, Wrexham
DESCRIPTION:The North West Group of the T E Lawrence Society are invited to visit the Reserve Collection of the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum Trust at Wrexham Museum on Tuesday 10th September\, 2019. \nWrexham Museum opens at 10.00 am and members should arrive by 10.30 am. \nThe morning session will concentrate on the archive’s collection relating to Robert Graves\, Siegfried Sassoon and Walter Brook of the 25th Battalion\, RWF\, who Lawrence immortalised as “Stokes” in his memoirs and will look at the Regiment’s part in the war in the Middle East. \nThe Museum has a superb café where lunch can be taken. \nA talk by Mrs Anne Pedley will be given in the afternoon on Lt Col C H M Doughty-Wylie\, VC\, whose connection with Gertrude Bell was discussed at last year’s Symposium. \nThere will be ample time after the talk to have a look around Wrexham’s wonderful museum or for a discussion on the day’s events. \nThe Museum is very near to Wrexham General station and regular trains run from Chester and the Midlands.  For those arriving by car\, there is a multi-storey car park next to the Museum. \nThere will be a £3.00 charge to members on the day to help cover the speaker’s travel expenses. \nFor enquiries please contact Andrew Wright by email:  andrewwright8117@hotmail.com
